Today was the last day of Summer Music Institute (SMI), it was sad, for the concert, I was tearing up, along with everyone else. Braidech, my private teacher and chamber coach started to cry too after all her SMI students played! It was heartwrenching...
The past two weeks has been amazing, fun, blast, and one of the most musical two weeks I ever had. LoL, fun times making up inuendos, "Practice rooms are soundproof for a reason," and such. The games of ultimate frisbee, with one injury, factoring Liz who ran into Jake. I won't forget waking up one morning, with Jordan at my door dripping front sweat from his morning jog. Yuck! I can't forget the random comments Liz would have, "IT SMELLS LIKE HOME!" I won't forget Jake's monolog, or the Jam Session at the talent show (I wasn't suppose to hit the wall!). The random yells of "GINE!" or the boy in the kilt. I most definitely will never forget Fantasy Beast Woman!
"Can we have a picture with you?"
"Uhh... No"
I won't forget meeting 3 other people who went to All-State. The whole Andrew being like Napoleon Dynamyte and his perfect imitations of quotes from the movies. The whole getting to know people, meet musicians who can play, and not just play, but play well. Meet vocalists that can sing, not just sing, sing well! Liz, I thought your voice was one of the best voices I ever heard, you, Arthur and Gene. I won't forget hitting the seagull, rolling down the hill, getting in a 'fight' with Liz after the hill. Hah, Jordan that was a good picture. So many things happened the past two weeks, I don't ever want to forget them all! But I won't go into detail because you would have to have been there, but I'll say this: I'm really glad that I decided to do this, or I wouldn't have met some of the most awesome people in the musical world.
I can't wait until we cross paths, and we WILL hang out when I go to Columbus for those who live nearby. And if Cedar Point does happen, that will be a blast. The 'friends' picture is, I think, the most favorite picture that I ever took.
I don't think I ever got so many hugs in one day! I mean, I got hugs from friends when I was leaving SMI, and hugs from friends when I returned to Elyria.
I went to help out with concession at ESTA, then towards Matt's grad party for a bit. It was all right, I saw my friends that I haven't seen in over two weeks. But it was NOTHING like SMI!
SMI 2005! I'll miss you all! The musical world really is a small world and I do hope we will cross paths in the near future!
